In 1923, Joseph H. Barron started a gray iron foundry in Detroit known
as Motor and Machinery Castings Company which produced large iron castings
for the automotive tool and die, mining, pump and compressor industries.

In the 1950's MMC's added ductile iron capabilities. In 1968, 20 ton induction
furnaces were added increasing MMC's maximum part weight capacity to 75
tons!

In 1984, the Lanthier Foundry and Machine Company, a small investment casting
operation in Oxford, Michigan, founded in1967, was acquired by the Barron's
to diversify their foundry operations and move into near net shape technology.

In 1990, a second investment casting plant was opened 3 miles north of
the existing facility.

Today, BarronCast's two plants comprise 65,000 square feet. The company
has 85 employees and supplies cast, machined, assembled and painted components
to the Defense, Automotive, Glass, Material Handling, Medical, Printing
Press,Combustion Turbine, Pump, Valve and other commercial markets.

BCI is a Tier 1 supplier to GM, Ford and Chrysler as well as an approved
supplier to companies such as McDonnell-Douglas, Westinghouse and General
Dynamics.
